• National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

    8th grade students who maintained a 3.5 GPA or greater during their 7th grade year are eligible to join Oakwood's National Junior Honor Society.  Applications for qualified students are given out at the beginning of their 8th grade school year.  Our focus is service, scholarships, leadership and citizenship.  Students complete community service hours for Oakwood or local organizations, including: 

    • Annual toilet paper drive for Central Arizona Shelter Services.
    • Annual hygene drive for Harvest Compassion Center.
    • Holiday gifts and ornaments for a senior center.
    • Creating gifts for Teacher Appreciation week.
    • Creative service projects offered up by our members.   
    • Meetings are bi-weekly.
