Educational organizations should have goals that the work on over time. Most goals are yearly, while others may cover a larger change initiative and could be designed to review over two to three years.
Foothills is a school that is driven by our Mission and Vision and our annual goals to make the school better.
Here are our current goals.
- Title I Goals- Required by the State and Federal Government that impact parental involvement, literacy, numeracy, leadership, and teacher professional growth.
- Administration School Learning Goals- SLO – Required by the State and PUSD School Board Policy administration apply goals to either School Accountability A-F Label Impact or Classroom Instructional goals. These goals typically fall in the area of instructional practices and they fall into the areas of the administrator’s evaluation system.
- Mission and Vision Goals- This is a Foothills practice. We have a Mission and Vision documents that we review annually and decide what we need to do regarding make a bigger impact on our Shared Values and Beliefs.
- Teacher Student Learning Goals- SLO- This is required by the State and PUSD School Board Policy. These goals typically fall in the area of academic progress and they fall into the areas of the teacher’s evaluation system.
This seems like A LOT! However, we try to overlap goals in these areas so our focus and effort do make an impact.
We strive to get better and we strive to be transparent in how we are doing.
