eCampus Summer School | May 30th - July 19th
Overview & Virtual Orientation Kick-Off
eCampus Virtual High School will offer online summer school opportunities for students. The summer session will kick off with a live virtual orientation on Tuesday, May 30th. You can view the Virtual Orientation Schedule for your course's virtual orientation meeting. Most virtual orientations begin at 6:00 p.m. while a few others start at 7:00 p.m. Your instructor will email you on Tuesday, May 30th, the Microsoft Teams meeting invitation to join their virtual orientation. You should reach out to your instructor before May 30th if you will not be able to attend the virtual orientation.
Furthermore, students need access to a laptop/desktop and internet access to connect to the virtual orientation and to complete their online course. A microphone is not required but recommended for the virtual orientation. Students will be able to ask questions via chat.
As previously mentioned, students will connect to the live virtual orientation via a Microsoft Teams Meeting. The Teams Meeting link will be posted on the orientation schedule. Once you click on the link, it will open the Microsoft Teams Meeting virtual session. If you are prompted with the question, "How do you want to join your Teams meeting", click on the "Continue on this browser" button. Clicking on the "Continue on this browser" button will allow you to join the Microsoft Teams Meeting without having to install any software on your device. We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser. If the Microsoft Teams app is installed on your device, then join using the Teams app. Students can review this Teams Meeting Student Guide on how to participate in a Teams Meeting. Note: eCampus instructors will also email students via their Peoria Unified student email account the link to the virtual orientation session.
In addition, students are required to watch the pre-orientation presentation above before attending the virtual orientation on May 30th. Most of the information discussed in the presentation will not be covered in your orientation with your instructor. Therefore, it is critical you review the presentation prior to your course's live virtual orientation.
Orientation Courses
Students new to eCampus are required to complete the online student orientation course. The student orientation course will provide a detailed overview of what to expect in our eCampus courses. Furthermore, we highly encourage all parents/guardians new to eCampus to complete the online parent orientation course. The parent orientation course is a great resource to help parents best support their student during their online course experience. Students and parents who completed the orientation courses during the fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters should review the courses for updated summer content. In addition, students who already completed the orientation course will be required to submit to their instructor the two certificates of completion found in the last lesson of the course.Registration
Registration opens on Monday, March 27th. Students electing to enroll in eCampus summer school courses should reach out to their home school counselor to enroll in eCampus summer school courses. In addition, students should complete the online registration and full-time equivalency forms.
The last day to enroll in eCampus summer courses is Thursday, June 1st.
Dates
eCampus summer school begins Tues., May 30th and ends Thurs., July 19th.
Courses
We expect to offer all courses on our course offerings guide. However, course availability is subject to change due to enrollment and teacher availability.
Final Exams
In-person final exams are scheduled for Mon., July 17th and Tues., July 18th. All final exams are given in-person at Peoria High School in the library. Any special circumstances will need to be pre-approved by your instructor and school administration prior to the final. Students can begin scheduling their in-person final exam appointments on Tues., May 30th. Visit our testing center page for more information.
Time Requirement
Students should expect to work a minimum of 800 weekly minutes (14 hours) for each full-credit course. Half-credit courses remain at 400 (7 hours) weekly minutes. We recommend that students enroll in no more than one full credit course or two half-credit courses for the summer session. The seven-week eCampus summer course will progress at an accelerated pace. Therefore, you may spend more than the required minimum time to complete all course work by the assigned due dates. In addition, we strongly encourage students to work ahead in the course if students plan on not connecting to the course or are without internet access for a certain period of time (e.g., vacation, camps).
Work Expectations
Students will be required to complete ALL coursework assigned by the instructor. There is no reduction in course content for eCampus summer courses and students will be expected to submit all assignments by the assigned due dates.
Cost
All eCampus summer courses have a tuition fee.- Full credit course | $300
- Half credit course | $150
