Important Update Regarding Spring Semester

  • We are pleased to share that our schools will continue offering school choice with a virtual option for students in the spring semester, through the remainder of the school year.

There are a few differences to note for spring 2021 to allow us to continue to offer a virtual learning experience and appropriately staff each class. If you opt to change your child’s instructional status for the next semester, it is important to know that your child will remain in that instructional status for the full spring semester. Families will not be able to move their child from one instructional status to another intermittently throughout the semester.

    Elementary School Students

You will need to complete the change form only if you plan to change your child’s instructional status from how your child is currently learning. Please note that we will do our best to minimize movement and change between students and teachers for the spring semester.

If you plan to keep your child in their current instructional status, no action is needed. Any family who wishes to change their instructional status for their child is asked to sign and return the change form to your school’s front office by Friday, Nov. 6.

    High School Students

There are a few differences to note for spring 2021 to allow us to continue to offer a virtual learning experience and appropriately staff each class so that our teachers may focus on only their in-person students or virtual students, and not both simultaneously. If you opt to change your child’s instructional status for the next semester, it is important to know that your child will remain in that instructional status through the end of the school year. Families will not be able to move their child from one instructional status to another intermittently throughout the semester.

Virtual classes will be available based on enrollment and staffing, which means that not all classes that were available in the fall may be available in the spring. All students who choose virtual instruction will be required to check-in with their virtual teachers during a dedicated class period each day, but their day-to-day learning will take place through the online curriculum in the platform(s) that is assigned by the teacher.

If your child will be virtual in the spring and your child’s schedule has a class that is not available virtually, your school counselor will be contacting you to change the course.
