Elementary virtual teacher

K-8 LEARNING

K-8 classes are synchronous, meaning students are taught in live classrooms with a teacher from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. daily. Students are expected to be online throughout the class, but also have access to recordings in case they are absent or need additional review later.

HIGH SCHOOL LEARNING

High school courses are fully asynchronous; students learn at their own pace, from the comfort of their home. Students are given assignments through our learning management software, Canvas, and are supported by highly-qualified Peoria Unified high school teachers who are available to answer their questions daily.

eCampus partners with Glendale Community College (GCC) to provide multiple online dual enrollment courses to eCampus students.

COMMUNICATION

At eCampus Virtual School, we use ParentSquare and ParentVUE to keep families informed of their child’s education. ParentSquare is how we will communicate with you about your child, and keep you informed of events happening at our school. ParentVUE is where you will update attendance, and track grades.

SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) CLASSES

Peoria Unified's elementary students in grades K-8 participate in classes which are synchronous, meaning students receive live instruction from a teacher during the school day. Students are expected to participate during the class, and they have the ability to review the content at a later time, if needed.

ASYNCHRONOUS (NOT LIVE) CLASSES

High school courses are all asynchronous, available online through Peoria Unified's learning management platform called Canvas. Through that platform, students can access their coursework, which are overseen by highly-qualified Peoria Unified high school teachers, who create the lessons, provide feedback, and are available to answer questions daily.

K-5 LEARNING MODEL

Students will connect with their teacher daily, following a schedule to include the core content areas of language arts, math, social studies, and science.

GRADES 6-8 LEARNING MODEL

In this learning model, students will participate in scheduled live learning as well as self-directed online learning. Students will connect with their teachers as needed for additional support.
