PEORIA UNIFIED GIVES THE COMMUNITY AN INSIDE LOOK AT CLASSROOMS
Posted by Peoria Unified Public Relations on 9/15/2023The Peoria Unified School District will host their semi-annual Fall Field Trip beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at Vistancia Elementary School, located at 30009 N. Sunrise Point in Peoria. The Fall Field Trip is an interactive, informative, and ideal way to introduce the community to Peoria Unified’s highly acclaimed schools and programs. The district welcomes elected officials, local business owners, community members and prospective parents to get an up-close look at what Peoria Unified students are learning in the classroom every day while building community connections.
District and school leaders will welcome guests with a continental breakfast and provide insight on the exciting things they will experience throughout the event Attendees will be greeted by students exemplifying Vistancia Elementary’s school spirit and will be led by students throughout their tours of classrooms. Patrons can expect to step into a myriad of different experiences on campus, ranging from a math game lesson to participating in a steel drum class. Wrapping up the morning, guests will reconvene to debrief on all the engaging experiences they had during the field trip.

PEORIA UNIFIED PARTICIPATES IN 9/11 TRIBUTE
Posted by Peoria Unified Public Relations on 9/12/2023PEORIA, Ariz. – In honor of the 22nd anniversary of September 11, 2001, the following Peoria Unified schools will hold commemorative events:
Desert Harbor Elementary School will hold their annual Walk of Honor at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11. During this event, staff and students will recognize and honor those who serve our community and country by lining the hallways and paying tribute military, veterans and first responders in attendance. Desert Harbor Elementary School is located at 15585 N. 91st Avenue, Peoria, Ariz., 85382.
Frontier Elementary School will also hold the 22nd annual Heroes Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 for firefighters, police officers, first responders and soldiers. Frontier Elementary School is located at 21258 N. 81st Avenue, Peoria, Ariz., 85382
Lake Pleasant Elementary School will hold a school-wide assembly at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 and invites families of junior high students to attend. Former teacher, Mr. Jody Beltram, will share the history of our nation’s military flags. Lake Pleasant Elementary School is located at 31501 N. Westland Road, Peoria, Ariz., 85383.
Peoria High School students in Future Farmers of America (FFA) will hold a breakfast for first responders from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 in the agriculture department in conjunction with their culinary arts students. The breakfast will be farm-to-table, utilizing the eggs from chickens who are cared for by the FFA students on campus. There will also be a remembrance ceremony held at the flagpole at 7:30 a.m. held by the Air Force Junior ROTC students. Peoria High School is located at 11200 N. 83rd Avenue, Peoria, Ariz., 85345.
