PEORIA, Ariz. – At the March 30 Board Meeting, Peoria Unified Governing Board members approved a revised 2017-18 school calendar. Modifications presented to the Governing Board on March 30 included the addition of a day off on Friday, Nov. 10, and a modification to the current professional development schedule.
In the current school year, Peoria Unified observes late start once per month on a Monday for staff professional development. In the newly approved calendar, Peoria Unified schools will release two hours early every Monday for staff professional development, with the exception of the month of May. Elementary schools that typically dismiss at 3 p.m. will dismiss at 1 p.m. every Monday, beginning August 2017. Elementary schools that dismiss at 3:40 p.m. will dismiss at 1:40 p.m. every Monday. High schools that dismiss at 2:20 p.m. will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. on Mondays.
