At the first organizational meeting of the year, the Peoria Unified Governing Board made a number of decisions and approvals…
The Board voted 5-0 to extend the contract of current Superintendent, Mrs. Linda Palles Thompson through June 30, 2020.
The Governing Board also voted to approve Mrs. Monica Ceja Martinez as President and Mrs. Beverly Pingerelli as Clerk of the Governing Board for 2019.
The meeting served as the first for new Governing Board Member, Mrs. Cory Underhill. A Welcome Reception for Mrs. Underhill will take place at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24 in the lobby of the District Administration Center, prior to the next Regular Board meeting.
Additionally, The Governing Board approved the 2019 Board meeting schedule. The meeting times for this year will remain at 6 p.m. and will continue to be held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month, with a few exceptions. The meeting schedule, as well as the link to stream the Governing Board meetings live, is posted on the district’s website at www.peoriaunified.org.
Finally, the Board voted to Reconvene a Citizens’ Bond and Override Advisory Committee. They will further discuss purpose and process for the Committee at their January 24, 2019 meeting.
