Tax Credit Website

The Peoria Unified School District recently launched a new tax credit website. The new website allows donators to select which schools, activities and students they would like to help fund. The donation page can be found through the district’s website at Patrons have until April 15 to have their contributions count toward their 2019 tax returns.

Tax credit donations allow families to directly help fund extracurricular activities such as outdoor education, field trips, athletics, clubs, tutoring or character education. These contributions can be directed to a specific student’s participation in extracurricular activities such as before-and-after school care (KidZone), field trips, athletic participation fees, Career & Technical Education and much more.

One hundred percent of the donation goes directly to the school program or student selected by the donor, allowing individuals to provide funding to programs for which they are most passionate. If a donor does not have a program they would like to fund, they may designate their contribution to the school(s) with the greatest need.

Individuals who wish to donate can do so online at, or in person at the Peoria Unified School District Administration Center, 6330 W. Thunderbird Road. Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows individual taxpayers a tax credit up to $200 or up to $400 as a married couple filing a joint return. If married taxpayers file separate returns, each spouse may claim half of the credit that would have been allowed on a joint return. In return, the donor can get the exact amount back from the state when filing a return. A tax credit may only be used to the extent it reduces a tax liability to zero.
