Peoria Unified Students Step Up to the Plate

The Peoria Unified School District is partnering with the city of Peoria and the Peoria Sports Complex to bring students to serve as batboys and batgirls for the upcoming Spring Training season for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. The district partners with the city and many other community organizations and municipalities to bring unique experiences, like this, to students.

 

The students from the district were chosen based on their merit and display of good character.

 

The students participating are:

Each game during Spring Training will utilize five batboys and girls and each student from the district will work three to four games a week. Their responsibilities include retrieving foul balls, retrieving bats after an at-bat, providing the home plate umpire with baseballs when requested and keeping the dugouts clean during downtime.
