Peoria Unified Students Help After Canceled Blood Drives

Earlier this month, Vitalant held a Community Blood Drive event for members of the Peoria Unified School District. Centennial High School, after having two of their previous blood drive events canceled, sponsored Vitalant’s blood drive and sent HOSA Club students to volunteer and help with the event. The goal of the blood drive event was to receive 50 donations, and with support from Centennial, Peoria High School and Sunrise Mountain students, they were able to pass their goal with 55 donors totaling 63 units of blood, which equates to the average size of a high school drive. Since one out of every four donors is a high school student, Vitalant was struggling to maintain blood needs for patients during the school closures. We would like to thank everyone involved for helping out our community in this time of need.
