Cactus High School’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 498, continues to build on their 2022 successes.
The reigning AZ State Champions and World Championship Semi-Finalists brought home the championship banner from Chezy Champs, winning one of the premiere off-season FRC events.
Chezy Champs is an invitational competition held in San Jose, CA, where 40 elite teams from around the world are selected to battle for the title over the course of two days. This year, five of the six teams on the field in the Chezy Champs finals were also in the FRC World Championship Einstein playoffs in April 2022. Team 498, The Cobra Commanders, came away victorious, along with their alliance partners FRC Team 1678: Citrus Circuits, Team 4414: HighTide, and FRC Team 2813: Gear Heads.
Team 498 is always looking to add highly motivated new members and mentors. All students in grades 8-12 attending any Peoria Unified School District schools are eligible to apply to join the team. Please email recruitment@498robotics.org for more information on how to get involved.
