We know this is a crazy way to end the school year and not the way anyone planned. I still want to thank everyone for an amazing year. This was my first year Apache and while there have been struggles, I could not ask for a better community to serve. Thank you to everyone that has been so understanding and support during some of those tough times and thank you to everyone who has been able to celebrate success with us.
We have a couple updates for the summer that we wanted to share with everyone.
1.) Our amazing food and nutrition staff will continue to serve lunches curbside. There will not be food services Friday 5/22 or Monday 5/25 because schools were already scheduled to be closed. Starting May 26th it will be Monday-Thursday from 9am-10:30am. It will be cold food only. We will go until at least June 30th please look for more information on this.
2.) The Peoria Unified School District will conduct free food box pickup 8-9 a.m., every Wednesday starting May 27 through June 30 at the Peoria Unified District Warehouse, 10721 N. 95th Ave., Peoria. The food boxes include 20 pounds of produce and up to two gallons of milk.
3.) The use of the iReady and ALEKS programs will continue for students throughout the summer until July 17. iReady will service students K-8 in ELA and K-5 in math. ALEKS will be available for students in 3rd- 8th grade for math supports. These programs are strictly optional, teachers will not be checking data, but just an option for anyone looking to continue their learning. The recommended time for each program is 90 minutes per the companies. For those of you tired of looking at a screen, a good old fashion book will do great for the students as well.
4.) We will continue to send updates on our HVAC system and when we will reopen our building to the public, as well as the time for teachers to return any belongings that students may have left in the building.
