Zuni Hills cheerleaders holding up an A+ with their pom poms

The Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF) announced 53 schools in Arizona that earned the A+ Schools of Excellence designation and Zuni Hills Elementary School in the Peoria Unified School District is among those being recognized. Recognition as an A+ School of Excellence by the AEF is the highest state-level recognition given to any Arizona public school.

Through a rigorous application and interview process, Zuni Hills Elementary School exhibited excellence in the following areas: strong leadership that inspires collaboration and embraces professional development; high-quality teachers and staff who create engaging learning experiences and help students thrive academically and socially; a rigorous standards-aligned curriculum that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving; engaged parents and community involvement; and a student-centered learning approach with extracurricular activities and a safe and nurturing environment.

“This is something that we have been working so hard for the last five years and we are overjoyed that it has finally happened. This is an incredible way to show our entire school and community what a great place this is to come to every day to learn," shared Krista Lynch, principal at Zuni Hills Elementary School. “This was not accomplished because of the work of just one person, but every single person who supports our school. I am thankful for our amazing teachers, support staff, parents, community members, and most importantly our students. This A+ is because of our students’ dedication to excellence.”
