The Peoria Unified School District is proud to receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the district’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. This marks Peoria Unified’s 36th consecutive year of receiving this recognition.

The GFOA Certificate of Achievement is presented to state and local governments that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and instead prepare comprehensive financial reports rooted in the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.

“In an era where public trust in institutions is often tested, Peoria Unified continues to stand as a model of transparency, accountability and fiscal stewardship. Our commitment to responsible financial management isn’t just a line item in a strategic plan; it’s a fundamental value that guides every decision we make,” said Marcie Rodriguez, Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations.

Earlier this year, Peoria Unified also received its 36th consecutive Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International; again, highlighting the districts commitment to financial transparency.
