school closures repurposing and boundary changes

On January 8, the Governing Board held a Study Session and Regular Board Meeting where they discussed our current fiscal reality and a proposal for school closure(s), repurposing and boundary adjustments. The district is navigating a complex financial landscape due to declining enrollment and funding changes. Additional information on next steps with the district’s budget stabilization plan will be shared as the plan is developed.

There is now an additional opportunity to provide feedback on one of the initiatives that will support financial stability and have a lasting impact on the future of the district. During the Regular Board Meeting, the Governing Board voted to call for a Public Hearing and Community Forum to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, in the auditorium at Cactus High School, 6330 W. Greenway Road in Glendale. This Public Hearing is not only a part of the legal process; it also provides our community with an opportunity to share their feedback directly with the Board as they consider the proposal before any decisions are made. Those interested can watch the Governing Board presentation from January 8 on the district’s YouTube Channel.
