On Wednesday, April 1, 225 students from 27 Peoria Unified elementary schools traveled to Centennial High School to compete in the district’s Inaugural Junior Math Madness Competition. This event provided Peoria Unified’s youngest mathletes the exciting opportunity to engage in strategy-based problem solving, participate in collaboration, and think critically.
Students first competed in two rounds of individual math problems, where they tackled a series of questions that contributed to both their individual and team scores. Individual winners included:

Later in the competition, students collaborated in teams to complete more complex challenges. Peoria Traditional School emerged as winner. Led by sixth grade teacher, Mr. Tim Lentz, and eighth grade teacher, Ms. Megan Reese, the team of students included:
