Student interns from Raymond S. Kellis High School, a proud high school in the Peoria Unified School District, will provide full live coverage of a ceremony at American Legion Post 62 honoring Pima Nation Marine Ira H. Hayes and his family.

Ira H. Hayes, one of Arizona's most significant veterans, was a Pima Nation Marine and one of the flag raisers immortalized in the iconic Iwo Jima photograph. The Hayes family will be recognized during the ceremony. PSBN students will produce full live coverage, including cameras, audio, graphics and announcements.

This event highlights a meaningful community partnership and showcases student broadcast work, with strong ties to Arizona history, Native American history, WWII and veterans' service, a story of relevance to classrooms across the district. Raymond S. Kellis High School has a longstanding partnership with American Legion Post 62. They are the same group that Raymond S. Kellis High School partners with each Veterans Day for its flag-raising ceremony.

PSBN is a unique program which gives students in all seven of Peoria Unified’s comprehensive high schools the ability to produce and live stream events.
