Congratulations to Mrs. Roxane Winston and Mrs. Katherin Hodges, recognized last week by district and site administration among the Top 1% of all PUSD employees. Over her 10+ years at Centennial, Mrs. Winston has taught English and CTE courses. Our Ed Professions and Professional Internship programs have flourished under her leadership. Mrs. Winston for many years sponsored clubs like Centennial’s National Honor Society. She has hosted student teachers, written district curriculum, designed and delivered professional development, and developed summer programming to support the 8th grade-to-high-school transition. Mrs. Winston has served as administrator for Centennial’s summer school program, and she is the Ed Professions lead. Mrs. Winston is a key contributor to Centennial’s culture and a dedicated, innovative and talented teacher and club sponsor. She builds welcoming, caring, and challenging learning environments in which all students feel known and valued. Vocational Rehabilitation and Transition Student to Work Specialist Katherin Hodges helps to qualify students for additional training, schooling, and supports after high school so that they can obtain and keep jobs, advance their skills, and flourish. There are so many students who’ve earned certifications, graduated college, lead companies, and turned weaknesses into strengths because Katherin Hodges believed in them and connected them with the supports they needed. Congratulations Mrs. Winston and Mrs. Hodges! You are the Pride of Peoria!
