Last November, Superintendent Dr. KC Somers launched Somers' Spotlight, an all-new employee recognition program that gives parents the opportunity to recognize Peoria Unified staff's commitment to every student, every day.
Lauren Navarro, second grade teacher at Oakwood Elementary, was recently recognized as a Somers' Spotlight. Ms. Navarro is committed to education and has a passion for serving others. Whether through fundraisers, Veterans Day events or other community events, she consistently models compassion, teamwork and giving back to her students.
"Ms. Navarro approaches everything she does with her whole hear. Her hard work and caring spirit have made a lasting, positive impact on many lives," shared one parent.
