We are hosting our next life-saving blood drive during Parent Teacher Conferences next Thursday 10/9 from 11am to 3pm in the bus parking lot off 98th Avenue with a Vitalant bloodmobile. We have a critical need for blood donors. We need all donors of all blood types to take an hour out of their day and help save a life!
Here in Arizona, we need 600 blood donors on a daily basis to keep pace with hospital blood needs in our State. There is no substitute for a blood donation and over 25% of the blood supply is given to patients battling cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and blood donations can help cancer patients undergoing surgery, treatment with chemotherapy and radiation. These treatments take a toll on the body affecting cancer cells as well as healthy cells, making blood transfusions a necessity for these patients.
Your school can also earn a $100 grant this fall and $150 grant in the spring if we can reach our goal of 17 successful blood donations. As of today, we have 3 appointment slots filled and room for at 13 least more blood donors to schedule an appointment and help save lives!
As an additional thank you, all blood donors in the month of October will be automatically entered into a $10,000 tech giveaway. One lucky winner will get a prepaid gift card of their choice to tune up their technology with a new phone or computer to spend however they wish!
