Last November, Superintendent Dr. KC Somers launched Somers' Spotlight, an all-new employee recognition program that gives parents the opportunity to recognize Peoria Unified staff's commitment to every student, every day.
Kathleen Busse, Student Support Facilitator and AVID Teacher was recognized as a Somers' Spotlight! From Meet the Teacher Night to Veterans Day celebrations, she plays an active role in Sun Valley. Through the AVID program, she encourages students to lend a hand to those in need to help them become better citizens of our community.
Her nominator shared, "she has helped my daughter come out of her shell and hold bigger, better expectations for herself and her future."
