My name is John Nitschke, and I am excited to return to the Peoria Traditional School for my third year as its Principal. It is an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to continue partnering with our PTS families this upcoming year!

We welcome back another group of incredible staff members that will be here to educate your children, keep them safe and ensure they leave with a smile on their faces each day.

Our incredible Booster Club is as strong as ever, ensuring our students and staff have what they need for success! We look forward to another successful year with them by our side.

For those of you who are new to our school...welcome!  A little bit about myself…this will be my 29^th year in the district and my 19th as an administrator.  My wife teaches in the district, our oldest son is in his second year at ASU, and my youngest will be a senior at Centennial!  As you can see, we have strong ties with the Peoria Unified School District.

My general philosophy of education is that students be engaged in each class...each day...with growth and achievement being the byproduct of this instructional best practice. Working in partnership with our families is the best way to ensure that students succeed, and we look forward to establishing a positive working relationship with each one of you.

Peoria Traditional has the reputation of being a signature program built on a firm commitment to academic excellence, high expectations, consistent discipline and a strong partnership among students, staff and parents. With that stated, we are also dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students who enter our doors.

Throughout the year, the Peoria Traditional School will use various avenues of communication. I attempt…on most Fridays…to send out a ParentSquare communication in order to keep you posted of events, ask for help, and/or celebrate all of our successes along the way!  Thank you for taking the time to read these each week so you are up to date on everything PTS.
