About Peoria Traditional School
-
The Peoria Traditional program was founded on the principle that parents and staff shall work together as partners to provide an education that encourages students to pursue academic excellence. The curriculum, pace of studies, and specific expectations for academic achievement, behavior, and dress require a firm commitment for every parent, student, and teacher. By selecting Peoria Traditional School, parents, students, and staff are responsible for and committed supporting PTS programs, upholding standards, and following the rules and policies of the school.
Location: The Peoria Traditional School is located at Coyote Hills Elementary School at 21180 N. 87th Ave. The traditional school is contained in a separate area of the campus.
Admissions: Peoria Traditional School is open to all Peoria Unified students and open enrollment is accepted for students who do not live within the district’s boundaries. A review process includes past discipline records and evidence of motivated learners.
Start and Dismissal Times: School starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. and releases at 2:30 p.m. This is a different start than Coyote Hills. Our students arrive on campus and start class before Coyote Hills’ students. Transportation to and from school is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
Curriculum: The curriculum is a disciplined, back-to-basics approach. The highly acclaimed Eureka Math is a cornerstone of our program. While students will receive art, music, and physical education – reading, writing, and mathematics will be our focus with a strong emphasis on Science and Social Studies.
School Uniforms: The uniforms are solid red, white, or navy blue polo-type shirts with no logos. Shorts (Bermuda length) and pants can be either navy or khaki.
Tours: Call or come by the school and pick up an enrollment packet. Enroll today to avoid the waiting list. The school phone number is 623-412-5350.
