Welcome to Peoria Unified! We appreciate your interest and value your time assisting in the classroom, office, cafeteria, library, on a field trip or wherever you choose to apply your talents in our schools.
The safety of our students is a top priority; to ensure school safety, we have chosen to take various precautions to protect our students.
Peoria Unified offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Some jobs provide the volunteer with a chance to work with children while many other jobs are available to those who prefer not to work directly with students.
Everyone who cares about children and education is a potential volunteer. Prior teaching experience is not necessary. Volunteers include seniors, community members, college students, parents and grandparents.
Whether you would like to volunteer at an elementary or high school, all Peoria Unified volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and provide a new application every year, even if you are a returning volunteer.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please apply through our Microsoft Form. When prompted, please select if you are interested in being a Level 1 or Level 2 volunteer.
Level 1 volunteers do not need a background check or fingerprint clearance card as they are not working with students outside of the supervision of a Peoria Unified employee. For example, you would assist in the front office or in the classroom with a teacher. Please submit your Level 1 application two weeks prior to volunteering.
Level 2 volunteers will need a background check and fingerprint clearance prior to volunteering as they will not always be under the supervision of a Peoria Unified employee. If you are planning to chaperone a field trip, attend Outdoor Ed, etc., you will qualify as a Level 2 volunteer. Please submit your Level 2 application one month prior to volunteering.
