Oakwood's Student Council features students from our 6th - 8th grades who exhibit leadership skills and school spirit. Officer positions are held by 7th & 8th grade students and are elected by their peers. Each 6th-8th grade class selects a representative from their homeroom. Oakwood Student Council sponsors events such as Jr. High dances, food drives, and spirit assemblies. This year, Student Council officers participated in Leadership Day where they met with other Student Council officers from all over the district to further develop their leadership skills.
Expectations for all officers and representatives include:
- Complete activities on a point sheet card which is distributed monthly to each member.
- Activities include helping a teacher for 30 minutes, making posters for fundraisers, giving a class announcement, participating in school spirit events and many other school supportive activites.
- Exhibit respectable behavior at all times.
- Demonstrate positive leadership roles.
- Maintain 3.0GPA or higher.
