The school day is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all K-8th grade students. We ask that all students arrive to school by 7:55 a.m. but not earlier than 7:40 a.m. so that adequate supervision can be provided on playground. Breakfast is available starting at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
In the event that a student is tardy to school, we ask that they check in at the front office for a late pass. This is to ensure that all students are accounted for at all times. Please call the Santa Fe 24-hour attendance line at 623-486-6486 or click here to report absence via ParentVue if your child is absent for any reason. Reporting absences early helps ensure that all students are safe and accounted for.
Regular and consistent school attendance is crucial for student success. Research shows the direct impact attendance has on performance and achievement in schools:
Academic Success: Attending school consistently directly impacts academic achievement. Students who are present regularly have better chances of performing well in their studies. When students miss school, they miss out on valuable learning opportunities.
Learning Gaps: Even if students complete make-up work for missed days, they may not learn and retain the material as effectively as if they had been present. Learning gaps can accumulate over time, affecting overall understanding and grades.
Social Skills and Connection: Regular attendance helps students develop social skills, adjust to the school environment, and feel connected to their community. Building relationships with peers and educators contributes to a positive school experience.
Preventing Dropout: Chronic absenteeism is a key indicator that a student may drop out. Early intervention strategies are essential to prevent attendance issues from becoming a long-term problem.
