    Christopher Ensslin, Varsity Head Coach

Mr. Ensslin, or Coach “E” as the students call him, has been teaching and coaching at Kellis High School since 2010. Prior to his work at Raymond S. Kellis High School, Coach Ensslin worked as a Regional Coordinator for National Youth Sports and attended Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. In 2010, Coach Ensslin was hired as an instructional assistant in the special education program and also took a position as JV boys basketball coach. After 2 years, Coach Ensslin earned his master’s degree in special education and began teaching. In 2015, the badminton position became available and Coach Ensslin was chosen as the new head coach. Despite having very little experience in badminton, Coach Ensslin attended clinics, studied, and played, learning through the following 4 years as much as he could about the sport. Coach Ensslin just completed his 8th season as freshman/JV boys basketball coach, and 4th season as Girls Badminton coach. The badminton team, this year, was ranked as high as #7 in the state at one point, before falling to #14 by the end, which is the highest rank the Kellis Badminton team has earned since its inaugural season in 2012. Coach Ensslin is also passionately involved in Special Olympics. The Badminton team has been happy to complete their service project every year by volunteering as scorekeepers at the Special Olympics/AIA Badminton Tournament.
