- Summer Opportunities
-
We encourage students to continue learning, engage in volunteer opportunities, and/or accept a summer job during the summer break. Students that stay engaged during the summer improve their ability to develop healthy and effective study skills, improve their organizational skills, or just help them feel prepared for the next step in their educational journey.

Summer Educational Opportunities
Summer Educational Opportunities List
We have added a list of summer educational opportunities for students to review. This is a great way for students to look into a college, learn about a new subject, and to be challenged academically. Below are some tips to help with the review process:
Steps to consider for Students' Summer Learning Opportunities
1.) Research programs that interest you.
2.) Review the costs and if the program has scholarship opportunities. Some programs may be free.
3.) Look at the details to see if it will work with your summer schedule - Is it in-person or virtual? Is it living on campus, or do you have to arrive at the campus during specific times? Will you have the ability to earn any college/high school credits?
4.) Look at the application process. What is the deadline date and time? (Don't forget to verify the time zone.) Do you need any letters of recommendation? Complete the application early, so you have time to ask someone to review it for you. Consider feedback and make final changes. Submit the application.
5.) Keep track of when you submit and the date you should receive notification on the program.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer and Community Service List
Volunteering is a great opportunity to help develop a student's passion in life. We encourage students to take time to volunteer in our community. The benefits of volunteering include making new friends, gaining new skills, mental and physical health and well-being, improving confidence, and the most important part - helping others.
