Summer Credit Recovery Enrollment Form and Course List

     summer

This summer, Centennial High School will again offer Edgenuity, a blended online and classroom-based instructional program that allows students to recover credits and stay on-track for graduation.  Please review the enclosed registration form for directions and a list of available courses. The 12 daily Edgenuity sessions provide students with 48 hours in a Centennial teacher’s classroom. While students must also work from a home computer to reach the 80 total hours required for credit, all unit and final assessments must be completed on-campus, under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

    Attendance

Like all PUSD courses, students must attend at least 90% of the daily sessions to be eligible for credit.  With only 12 daily sessions, students who miss more than one day of instruction may be dropped from the course.  Because summer staffing and payroll are based upon paid enrollments, Centennial cannot issue refunds to students dropped due to absences.  There is no bus transportation available.

    Payment

$125.00 per full-credit course (Only one course allowed)

$62.50 per half-credit course (Up to two courses allowed)

Please pay the appropriate fee in the campus Bookstore by Friday, May 24th, 2019.  The Bookstore accepts cash, credit cards, and checks made out to Centennial High School.  Students who have paid the fee must return the completed registration form to their counselor, who will provide each registered student with a “ticket in the door” to bring to the first day of classes on Monday, June 3rd.

    Grading

Students who failed a core class in previous semesters strive to pass the corresponding Edgenuity course to earn a grade change for that previous semester.  For example, if a student who earns a 52% (F) in spring semester English III passes the summer Edgenuity English III course, Centennial will change his/her previous spring semester English III grade to the 60% (D) that PUSD requires.  The same process will apply to PUSD courses that require a 70% (C) passing grade: Centennial will change the previous D or F to the required 70% (C).  Students who complete Edgenuity electives will earn a grade of Pass or Fail.
