Congratulations to Our August Athletes of the Month!
Amelia Dory Sielicki (Sophomore) - Swim
Amelia has a great attitude during practices. She is always asking questions about the workouts and helping her fellow swimmers stay on task. Amelia is our only girl who swims the 500 freestyle. This is the longest race we compete in, and she has owned it. In our most recent meet she took 8 seconds off her time. Amelia is an outstanding teammate and a positive influence on our Swim program.Boaz Swartz (Junior) – Golf
Boaz is the unnamed, but undeniable captain of the boy’s golf team and leads by example. He is always early to practice and helps other players during warm up and on the course. Boaz is a unifying figure on our team. He suggested and helped set up an additional match with Cactus that wasn’t on our schedule but benefitted both teams. At matches, when he has a bad score on a hole, he shows true athleticism by working harder to improve on the next hole. Boaz is at the front of suggestions for team bonding, and he leads with a hard-working, fun-loving style.During Centennial's site early release Wednesday last week, Mr Hollabaugh led our staff in the SAMR model to provide resources and ideas for 1:1 instruction that engages students via technology.
September 27th Mental Health Fair

September is Teen Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and Centennial will host its annual "Mental Health Fair" during lunches on Tuesday, September 27th. Students can choose to learn life-saving information that can connect them, their friends, and family to hope! Teen Lifelines and other Arizona agencies are coming together to provide students and adults with knowledge of the signs of suicide, risk factors, healthy coping skills, and knowledge of how to access community resources. Click here for a flyer that contains a list of the agencies who will visit our campus.
