Congratulations to our Students of the Month, seniors Thahn Dao and Daniel Nwazue, pictured here with their teachers Mrs. Parrish and Mr. Gahan. Both presented to the Peoria Rotary Club last Friday. Thahn has been a leader in our Future Health Professionals Club, organizing the last blood drive. He plans to attend ASU West and become a dentist. Daniel is a leader in DECA who plans to attend MIT and become an engineer.
Congratulations to Centennial Advanced Placement students and teachers, who have set another school and PUSD record for AP testing in a given school year. This year, our students will take 532 AP tests!
Thanks to Officer Fernanez, Mr. Lentz, and all of the parents who attended last week's Parent Connect session concerning drugs, nicotine vapes, and student safety. Parents learned to identify vaping devices and dangerous drugs and how to respond to emergency situations involving them. Mrs. Saltzman and the CeHS culinary program served Fetuccine Alfredo, salad, and dessert! Please plan to join us later this month for our last Parent Connect session of the year.
Congratulations to Mrs. Bailey and National Honors Society, who held a Shred-a-Thon last week and raised more than $2,300 to support scholarships for graduating seniors!
Congratulations to all of the students, staff, and community members who participated in last weekend's West Valley Relay for Life at Centennial, which raised $46,000 to support the American Cancer Society's mission to end cancer through research and prevention.
