Congratulations to Mrs. Mary Pedraza, recognized last week as a Pride of Peoria winner, an honor reserved for the Top 1% of all Peoria Unified teachers! Mrs. Pedraza has taught in PUSD for 27 years and is Centennial's teacher of English language learners. She has helped native speakers from all over the world to learn English. Mary also teaches English and Spanish courses. She is a vital resource for so many of our students and families and is respected by her colleagues for her professionalism, expertise, kindness, and commitment to student success. Students and staff members collected letters in support of Mrs. Pedraza, pictured above with Mr. Hollabaugh and our Superintendent, Dr. Reynolds. She'll be recognized in May at a ceremony with all of PUSD's other winners.Remember that Centennial and all PUSD schools are closed this coming Friday, April 21st for the April Testing Break. Angelina Joe is Centennial’s winner of Peoria Unified's antibullying artwork contest! Congratulations Angelina! We are so proud of you.
Members of Skills USA - Engineering attended the State Leadership & Skills Conference where Dillon Fisher competed in Photography and was awarded a bronze medal. His success is a result of his dedication to preparing for the event and a testament to Centennial's photo program. Harmony Fisher competed in Extemporaneous Speaking and was awarded a silver medal.
