Leaders of the Pack: Honor, Integrity & Excellence

  • Congratulations to our 4th Quarter Leaders of the Pack, recognized last week for embodying Centennial's values of Honor, Integrity & Excellence: Freshmen Jocelyn Ovalle and  Xavier Neumann, Sophomores Daria Krasnobaieva and Brayden Sidebottom, Juniors Kadin Castillo-Van Goethem and Richard Araiza, and Seniors Ada Stanley and Lillian Cockfield! Enjoy the video below, in which their teachers share the reasons they chose these students as Leaders of the Pack:
Our previous Leaders of the Pack came together last week to nominate a Teacher Leader of the Pack, a new recognition. The students chose Mr. Mark Schmidt, Chairperson of Centennial's Science Department. Mr. Schmidt has taught at Centennial for 34 years. Students and staff love and respect Mr. Schmidt for his enthusiasm, expertise, leadership, and kind and caring approach. He's pictured here with our Lead Counselor Mrs. Luque and our Principal, Mr. Hollabaugh:

  • Valor Award J. Bernal

Congratulations to Centennial junior Jackson Bernal, an Air Force Junior ROTC student at Peoria High School. On Friday April 28th, Jackson received the Air Force Junior ROTC Silver Valor award, the second most-prestigious award possible in AFJROTC. Jackson received this award for his lifesaving efforts stemming from a medical emergency at Centennial in September of 2022.

In Centennial's Ed Professions classes, students have been reading about the qualities of incredible teachers. As a class, they decided to recognize the above CeHS teachers for the “gift” that each one represents. From left to right, students recognized Mrs. Beck for her intentionality, our counselors for their sensitivity, Mrs. Saltzman for her courage, Mrs. Dunham for her optimism, Ms. Fox for her passion, Mr. O'Neill for his responsibility, and Mrs. Hogg for her respectfulness.
