Signed Awareness Statements Due Friday 8/25

  • Centennial Administration Rituper, Hollabaugh, Larsen, MolinaDear Centennial Parents and Students,

Last week, our administrative team met with all Centennial students to remind them of the values that are most important to their success in high school and to our shared success as a Culture of Achievement. At Centennial, we honor each other and our school. We practice integrity - doing the right thing. And we cultivate and celebrate excellence in ourselves and in each other. We also stressed to students the role that each of us plays in keeping our campus safe and welcoming. As we begin a new year together, please consider joining us on Monday, August 28th to "Meet the Teachers" from 6-7pm and to attend a brief, optional "Parent Orientation" in the Auditorium from 7-8pm. We'll share with you many of the same key items we shared last week with students - our school's goals, important academic dates and policies, campus safety procedures, and more.

Also, this week, please take time as a family to review our school's handbook and some of the key policies and procedures we highlight each year from the handbook. Your son or daughter should bring home to you a green "Student and Family Awareness Statement." We ask that every Coyote sign and allow his parent or guardian to sign the form, indicating your review of the handbook and five other important documents. You can click below to review the documents now. Please sign and return the awareness form to your 2nd period teacher by this coming Friday, August 25th.

After an exhilarating spirit week of dressup days and assemblies, we're looking forward to the coming week, which will include our first home athletic events of the new year, the Friday morning Senior Sunrise, and the Friday night opening home football game against Desert Edge. We hope to see you on campus and hope you'll reach out to us if we can assist you in any way. Thanks for your support and partnership!

    Mr. Hollabaugh
    Principal

Around Campus

  • Thanks to all of the students and staff who dress up, stood up, and made Friday one of the most-spirited starts to a school year can remember! Shout out to Mr. Berquam and Student Council for making it all happen!

Mrs. Saltzman's Advanced Culinary students had a "whale" of a good time utilizing their creativity and knife cutting skills last week!

Graduation Timeline & Senior Info Night Materials

  • Dear Seniors and Senior Parents,

Thanks for your engagement at Senior Information Night this week. If you were unable to join us, you can use the links below to review the handouts and presentation materials:

Our presentation concluded with some important tasks, which we’ll share again here:

    • Encourage your Coyote to attend the August 30th application workshops for all in-state universities (ASU, U of A, NAU, Grand Canyon). To attend, students must sign up by August 24th by visiting at www.tinyurl.com/CoyoteCollegeApp. Every year, many Coyotes earn significant scholarship money as a result of these applications!
    • Mark your calendar for the financial aid FAFSA Workshops planned for December, January and February. It’s our goal for every family to complete the 45-minute FAFSA application! Students who complete FAFSA are not only eligible for aid; they can also qualify for scholarships as a result of completing the application. Help Centennial stay #1 in FAFSA in PUSD!
    • Make plans to attend the Peoria Unified College Fair at Centennial on Wednesday, October 18th at 6pm. Dozens of college, university, trade school, and military representatives will be on-hand to visit with our families.
    • Book a senior yearbook photo session at Prestige Photography prior to November 12th. Remember that seniors must take their pictures with Prestige to appear in the yearbook.
    • Be sure to order your cap and gown: The Jostens document provides instructions, and while most families place their orders online, Jostens will visit Centennial on September 21st for in-person orders.
    • Continue to check our Class of 2024 website for updates regarding your Coyote’s final year at Centennial. Simply save www.peoriaunified.org/CeHSseniors to find all the information you’ll need as we prepare for graduation on May 22nd, 2024.
