Course Assessments & End of First Semester

    Dear Centennial Family,

I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and happy as we finish the first semester and head into the holiday season. As you know, each week, we share this newsletter to remind you of important events and to celebrate the successes of our students and staff. As you peruse this week’s celebrations of our artists, Math Society competitors, English language learners and Leaders of the Pack, I hope you’ll take time to celebrate your individual student’s successes, whatever they may be! Our Coyotes wrap up the semester with final exams on Wednesday and Thursday, dismissing at 10:20am each day:

Winter Break begins on Friday, December 22nd, and students begin the second semester on Monday, January 8th. When students return to school, they’ll access their course schedules online via StudentVUE. Please remember that student schedules are subject to change over break, as our counselors balance class sizes and respond to the results of first semester final grades.

Toward the bottom of this page, you’ll find a list of important upcoming second semester events, including Meet the Teachers Night on Monday, January 22nd (6pm). We look forward to supporting your student’s continued growth and success next semester. Until then, we wish everyone in the Centennial Family a safe and joyful holiday and a happy new year!

    Mr. Hollabaugh
    Principal

Thanks to all the students, families and staff who visited Centennial to support last Thursday's Art Show! Congratulations to all of our students who displayed their work, and thanks to Mr. Buhrmann, Mrs. Lund and Mrs. Jones for their inspiration and guidance! We hope you enjoy some of the many highlights shared here.

  • Our Second-Quarter Leaders of the Pack

Congratulations to Centennial's second-quarter Leaders of the Pack, recognized on-campus December 14, 2023 for exemplifying our school's values of honor, integrity, and excellence. Each quarter, staff members nominate students for this award. This quarter, we recognize freshmen Madison Murphy & Elainna Harris, sophomores Emily Ramirez Sanchez & Kehelen Hood, juniors McKenzie Robb & Lincoln Owsley, and seniors Aislin Santiago Rosas & Joshua Mejia.

Further congrats to Akasha, Charlotte, and Lillian for qualifying for the April 2024 state meet, joining eight other qualifiers.

Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy performances from Mrs. Tucker and Centennial's choirs. Our students performed Thursday, December 14th in the CeHS Auditorium. Above, "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays. Below, you'll find "Ding a-Ding a-Ding."

    International Holiday Presentations

Mrs. Pedraza and her English Learners students had been preparing for their "International Holidays Around the World" presentations since they returned from Fall Break. Each student created a PowerPoint presentation to teach their classmates about a country and the holidays its citizens celebrate at this time of year. Students evaluated their peers' presentations. Centennial students from from Cambodia, Guatemala, Cuba, Mexico, Taiwan, Vietnam, Iraq, and Honduras taught us about their countries' Christmas, Eid, and New Year traditions. Each presenter even shared food from their country, and Mr. Hollabaugh, Mrs. Molina, Mrs. Rituper, and Dr. Larsen joined in the fun, informative and exciting experience.
