• April 29 - May 4, 2024

Congratulations to Coach Williams and Baseball for advancing to the AIA State Baseball Tournament's Elite 8! The Coyotes rallied for three runs in the final inning to top Horizon 7-6 on Saturday! They'll play this week in the double-elimination tournament, first against Casteel at 4pm on Monday and then again Thursday against an opponent to-be-determined.

Congratulations to Centennial’s Students of the Month, Kylie Gaboriault and Boaz Swartz, recognized last Friday for embodying the Rotary Club’s motto of “Service Above Self.” Kylie is a member of Bel Canto and Educators Rising who plans to major in Elementary Education at NAU. Mrs. Winston nominated her. Coach Bauer nominated Bo, who plays Golf and Volleyball and is nearly finished with his real estate license. He will major in mechanical engineering at ASU next fall. In their honor, the Rotarians donated a wheelchair to support a teenager in need.

Congratulations to Coach Kaye and Coyotes Softball for returning to the state playoffs last weekend! Centennial traveled to Catalina Foothills and topped the Falcons 7-6 to advance to the weekend's playoff contest at Desert Mountain. While they lost 10-4 to the #1-ranked Wolves, we're proud of them! Congratulations also to the five all-region team members pictured above.

  • State Concert Band Festival

Congratulations to Mrs. Menasco and Centennial Concert Band, which earned a SUPERIOR rating on Friday, April 26 at ABODA State Concert Festival. This group improved from Excellent at the Area festival to Superior at State! This was their last competition of the season, and we are so proud of what they have accomplished! Concert Band will perform its final concert of the semester on Tuesday, May 14th, at 6:30pm in the school auditorium.

The City of Peoria's Youth Advisory Council is planning a voter registration opportunity for students on Thursday and Friday of this week during both lunch periods! In order to register, students must be 18 years of age on or before the next regular General Election. We appreciate the Youth Advisory Council's enthusiasm for providing Peoria-area youth with opportunities before graduation to take part in voter registration.

Meet Our New Superintendent!

  •  Meet the new superintendent

You’re invited! To ensure a strong foundation and to foster open dialogue with our students, staff, parents and community, Dr. Somers, our new superintendent, will host a series of engaging meetings across our school district, called Listen, Learn & Lead. Dr. Somers is hosting the three identical one-hour events as opportunities to get to know our community and garner feedback. These conversations serve as a platform for all key stakeholders – staff, parents, students, and community members alike – to share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for our schools. We encourage everyone to participate, whether you are an enthusiastic student, a seasoned educator, a dedicated parent, or a committed community member.
