Class registration for next school year has begun!!
The school counselors will present and guide our juniors, sophomores, and freshman through completing the registration paperwork for choosing their classes for the 2025-2026 school year during their class meetings this week. To help our students plan for their future, CeHS will also be having our Elective Fair on Friday, October 25th! Students should take advantage of this opportunity by learning more about each program and the wide variety of electives they get to choose from. Students can earn AZ State Seal of Arts Proficiency, Seal of Biliteracy, Career Technical Education Masteries and Certification, and college credit through Dual Enrollment. Don’t miss out on all the electives we have to offer!
Come see the Pride of the Pack, Centennial's marching band, in action at the Peoria Unified Marching Band Showcase! This friendly exhibition is the one and only chance to see all Peoria Unified marching bands together. Please join us at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Centennial High School for this major musical event!
Please be aware we are honoring the district clear bag policy for this event. Go to the district website for more information regarding this policy: https://www.peoriaunified.org/clearbagThe Career Pathway Expo is for all 7th - 11th graders curious about what classes are available in high school which will point them towards their future career. It showcases career development classes available in all Peoria Unified high schools offered by the Peoria Unified School District. Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy, Peoria Unified CTE, TLC program and West-MEC will all be in attendance to speak with your students.

Commit to a Drug Free Lifestyle
-
During the week of October 21-25, Centennial will join the more than 90,000 schools who annually recognize Red Ribbon Week, our nation’s largest and longest-running drug prevention campaign. As you may know, since 1985, the National Family Partnership has sponsored a National Red Ribbon Campaign to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults nationwide pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse. Parents and youth wear Red Ribbons as a symbol of their renewed commitment to living healthy, drug-free lives. At Centennial, we will recognize Red Ribbon Week with:
- Lunchtime table displays featuring informative resources, like myths and facts about drugs and alcohol.
- Daily announcements concerning teen brain development, vaping, marijuana, alcohol, prescription drugs, and Fentanyl. We’ll share these with parents and guardians via ParentSquare as well.
- A Friday, October 25th opportunity for students to wear red and take the drug-free pledge.
Please talk with your student about the importance of leading a drug-free lifestyle and discuss as a family if you would like your student to pursue any of the resources or information described above. As always, if you have questions or concerns, please contact our office at 623-412-4400.
Around Campus
-
After learning about classroom management, levels of questioning, learning targets, and components of lesson planning in our Ed Professions class, students chose to work individually or with a partner/co-teacher and had to select a lesson plan, modify it to meet the needs of our class rubric and requirements, and then teach it to our class! They all did great, and we may have a few future teachers in our midst.
Our Professional Cooking students wanted students to support the fight against breast cancer. We gave away free cupcakes and a pink ribbon sticker to each student. They also gave cupcakes in little dessert domes and a pink ribbon sticker to our staff!
