Centennial Wins 8th State Football Title

Congratulations to Coach Taylor and the Coyotes, who overcame an 0-4 regular season start and completed a 4-0 playoff run Saturday to win the 6A State Championship with a 31-21 victory over a talented Mesa Mountain View team at Sun Devil Stadium! Thanks to our coaches, athletes, parents, band, spiritline, Student Council and sports medicine students for their support and Coyote Pride!

Congratulations and thanks to Mrs. Menasco and Centennial's Pride of the Pack Marching Band. The Coyotes' Wind Ensemble earned an "Excellent with Recognition" rating at the Arizona Fall Band Festival early Saturday morning at Gilbert Community College, and then the band raced over to Sun Devil Stadium to pump up the CeHS Football state title game crowd! We appreciate our band's excellence this year in competitions and ongoing support for school spirit! You can watch Marching Band this week on Tuesday night, when they perform their Winter Concert at 7pm in the Auditorium.

Around Campus

  • Thanks to Mrs. Tucker and Bel Canto for spreading holiday cheer throughout the Centennial Community! Our advanced choir students dressed up and visited the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging to sing carols and visit with the residents. You can enjoy choir performances and an art show this week! Visit Centennial Thursday night for the Fall Art Show at 5pm in the Library and the Choir Holiday Concert at 7pm in the Auditorium. Bel Canto will also perform Saturday night at the City of Peoria Festival of Lights at 7:15pm.

In Mrs. Kinnaman’s Baking and Pastry students completed a lesson in Composed Desserts!  They researched components of a composed dessert, learning that texture, sauce, and garnish are key elements.  Each group developed their own version of a composed dessert and prepared it in class.

On Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, the Japanese Class and Club sponsored a field trip to Ah-So Japanese Restaurant to participate in a specialized cooking style and cuisine called Teppanyaki.
It was a lot of fun with a fire show and humorous antics by the chefs.

Our FCCLA culinary students attended a culinary Boot Camp with other PUSD culinary students in preparation for their spring state competition. Students practiced skills in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, Mise En Place, Chicken Fabrication, cupcake and appetizer displays and more!  Way to go Coyotes!
