On to Week #2: Spirit Week!

  • GT

    Dear Students and Parents,

We're up and running! Centennial kicked off the 2022-23 school year with more than 2,080 Coyotes onboard. Most of them took their school pictures on Friday, and for those who missed or need retakes, we have scheduled makeup pictures on Tuesday, September 20th.

Nearly every student borrowed a laptop last week, and those who forgot their signed loan authorization forms will have the opportunity to visit the Library to borrow their laptop on Monday. Like many high schools across the country, Centennial will shift to a teaching and learning model that prioritizes technology integration to promote student engagement and college and workplace preparedness. If your student still needs to borrow a device, you can click here to print a copy of the Laptop Loan Authorization form. To learn more about our district's 1:1 laptop initiative, please click here.

Students also received their school ID's and lanyards on Friday. Students and staff wear ID badges at Centennial to promote safety. The badges also help students to buy lunch, borrow library books, board district buses, attend afterschool events, and check-in at the front office. Please encourage your Coyote to wear his/her ID to school each day.

Our second week together is a back-to-school Spirit Week! Check out the "Get to Class" dress-up themes that Student Council has planned for each day. This week, teachers, students, and administration will spend time reviewing the Student Handbook and Centennial's values and goals. Remember that the parent and student-signed copies of the Handbook Awareness Statement are due during 2nd period classes on Friday. Finally on Friday, we'll hold our first spirit assembly of the school year! The day features a special bell schedule that you can find below.

We hope to see senior parents on Tuesday at our 6:30pm Senior Information Night and all of you at Meet the Teacher Night next Monday, August 22nd at 6pm! Thanks for all you're doing to help your Coyote experience a strong start to the school year. Please contact us if we can help in any way.

    Mr. Hollabaugh
    Principal

    Frog Legs

Mrs. Saltzman had a surprising "hook" waiting for her Advanced Culinary students' first lesson: The students fried frog legs, taste-testing them afterwards. Whether you're a fan of frog legs or not, we're grateful that our Culinary students will get to expand their palates and cooking skills under Mrs. Saltzman's direction.

Connect with Other Parents

  • RVSP for Parent Connect
Monday, September 19th at 6pm (Library)

Join Matt Suman and Ryan Lashua at Centennial's first ever Parent Connect Night! Matt and Ryan will facilitate discussions and provide an opportunity for you to meet other parents. Our first topic will be stress. Come out to share struggles and strategies related to parenting teenagers, and enjoy dinner prepared by Centennial's Culinary Club! Spots will fill up fast, so please RSVP to Centennial Receptionist Mrs. Ruiz-Moreno at 623-412-4400.

Run for Site Council!

  • SC

    • One student (Grade 9, 11, or 12) to join a returning sophomore member.
