Congratulations to Coach White, Coach Ybarra and Centennial Boys Cross Country! The Coyotes took first place in Flagstaff High School's annual Peaks Invitational at Buffalo Park, winning the Ascent Race! Coach White wasn't surprised at all. He praised our young men for their hard work and dedication - and for running all summer in the heat. Senior Tristen Coyle finished 1st overall, senior Isaiah Fastrup took 3rd, and Riley Coyle and Anthony Padilla also medaled, finishing 11th and 14th respectively.
Join us in the Centennial Cafeteria on Wednesday, September 14th for Peoria Unified’s 2022 Community Resources Fair! News Around Centennial

Centennial's Future Business Leaders of America club members dedicate themselves to achieving interviewing excellence! Twice a year, Centennial FBLA hosts Interview Day where students play the role of the applicant to the fictional Merit Corporation. Each chooses a specific job from the job postings and completes an application, a resume, and a cover letter. FBLA invites business owners, the City of Peoria HR staff, and business educators from ASU, GCU, and Glendale Community College, to serve as Merit Corporation supervisers and interviewers. Each student interviews for the job and the interviewers choose two students to “hire.” Interviewers provide real-world advice to our students about improving their job folder documents and their interview responses. The interviewers love figuring out who will get hired and struggle to choose just two from each group. CeHS FBLA would like to share our sincere thanks to the 36 interviewers from our community who participated, the parents who supported our 260 students' preparation for the event, and the students who dressed professionally, completed their job folders, and aced their interviews!
Ms. Moniz's Geometry classes love their angles! Students were challenged to use their vocabulary to determine the types of angles given when parallel lines are cut by a transversal. From there, students calculated the angle measures by solving their equation for the variable and substituting that value into the expression. Once the angles were calculated, students were able to be as creative as they would like when they colored their angle flags to be displayed in front of Ms. Moniz' Geometry classroom!
Thanks to all of the students and sponsors who participated in last week's Club Rush. Officers and members of many of Centennial's clubs advertised their organizations to answer students' questions and invite them to join! Pictured above are members of Engineering Club, French Club, DECA, Be a Leader, and FBLA. Many other clubs also participated.
