COACH TAYLOR RETIRES
The Centennial Coyote Family congratulates Head Football Coach Richard Taylor on his retirement from a coaching and teaching career that spans 53 years, never to be matched. As the only football coach in Centennial’s 35-year history, Coach Taylor has helped to shape our school’s culture of achievement! Thousands of Coyotes are better leaders and people, and hundreds of athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level thanks to his mentorship. Thank you, Coach, for your dedication in the classroom and on the field! A big-school Arizona record 8 state championships, 13 state title game appearances, and 340 wins in 35 years… These numbers just begin to tell the story of your impact in Arizona and Ohio high schools. Thank you to the Taylor family for sharing Coach with generations of Centennial students and families. Centennial Football will continue its currently scheduled off-season activities led by our current coaching staff as we work with our community to quickly select our next head coach.
Last week, Mr. Hollabaugh met with our juniors, sophomores and families to remind them of the ACT’s importance and its content, as well as the opportunities Centennial offers to help students prepare. In just eight weeks, on Tuesday, April 1st, our juniors will take the ACT test. Many of our students use their ACT scores to gain admission into universities and earn scholarship money to reduce the high costs of college tuition. We know that on average, 72% of Centennial students go to college during the years immediately following high school. The ACT will therefore rank among the most important tests in our Coyotes’ academic careers. Grades 10 - 12The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a timed, multi-aptitude test developed by the Department of Defense designed to determine whether you are a good fit to join the military. The test can indicate which service branches fit your talents and even which military jobs you can hold after you finish basic training or boot camp. The better your ASVAB score, the broader your options!
Unsure of What You Want to Do After High School?
The ASVAB can also be used as a career exploration tool to identify potential civilian (non-military) career paths that align with your skills.Explore Careers That Fit Your Talents
