With the vast digital world that is now available to our children, digital citizenship and Internet safety has become an important factor to address with our children. It is necessary for children to learn how to be good citizens and safe in an online, digital world. Seeing this need, in 2009 the Peoria Unified School District initiated its first annual Internet Safety Week and has since continued the celebration of Internet Safety Week each year. During this week our schools and classroom teachers present students with information and activities to teach them how to be good digital citizens and stay safe online.
