It is our belief that all children can learn and develop healthy attitudes toward attending school. Therefore, we approach the problem of school non-attendance collaboratively and supportively. Our goal is to keep kids in school to help prepare them for their futures, and keep them out of the Juvenile Justice System.

Students do not attend school for a variety of reasons. In fact, over the course of this program we have found there are as many reasons for truancy as there are students. The reasons for non-attendance fall into two categories: a problem at home or a problem at school.

By forming a partnership between the schools, families, courts, law enforcement and social service entities we can help solve the problem at home or at school, then the truancy issue will usually correct itself.
