PEORIA UNIFIED GOVERNING BOARD UPDATES FOR 2022

GLENDALE, Ariz. – During the Peoria Unified Governing Board meeting on January 13, 2022, the Board unanimously approved Jason W. Reynolds, Ed.D. to continue as Peoria Unified’s superintendent through the 2023-24 school year. Reynolds has served as superintendent since July 1, 2020.

“Dr. Reynolds is a courageous leader with a growth mindset who ensures student success both academically and socially,” said President David Sandoval. “Peoria Unified has real obstacles ahead as we continue to grapple with the impact of the pandemic and I am confident that Dr. Reynolds is the one to lead our great district through this recovery. The board’s unanimous vote to extend his contract is a testament to the quality of the person that he is and his proven leadership skills.”

The Peoria Unified Governing Board also voted on officers for the 2022 calendar year. At the meeting, the Board voted unanimously to retain David Sandoval as president and Cory Underhill as clerk of the Governing Board for 2022.

The Governing Board also approved the 2022 Board meeting schedule. The meeting times for this year will remain at 6 p.m. and will continue to be held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month, with a few exceptions. The approved meeting schedule, as well as the link to stream the Governing Board meetings live, is posted on the district’s website at www.peoriaunified.org.
