• Peoria Unified School District welcomed Dr. K.C. Somers as a full-time member of the Peoria Unified family on April 1. Dr. Somers takes the helm effective July 1, but is prioritizing meeting with all key stakeholders while he is supporting acting superintendent, Mr. Kevin Molino.  

    At the April 11 Governing Board meeting, Dr. Somers shared his Transition Plan which includes three priorities: Align Superintendent and Governing Board Relationship, Build Leadership Capacity and Commit to Continuous Improvement, and Foster Community Engagement and Connections.

    To ensure a strong foundation and to foster open dialogue with students, staff, parents and the community, Dr. Somers hosted a series of engaging meetings across Peoria Unified, called Listen, Learn & Lead.  

    These conversations serve as a platform for all key stakeholders – staff, parents, students, and community members alike – to share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for our schools.
