Family Resource Center

The Peoria Unified School District has partnered with First Things First to provide families with Resource Centers at three locations.

The Peoria Unified Family Resource Center is designed to provide parents and caregivers the tools they need to support the learning and development of their young children, with an emphasis on building strong families and helping to prepare children for kindergarten. We do this by offering information, resources & referrals, as well as providing programming for families with children age birth to five. Programming includes developmentally appropriate activities for parents/caregivers and children to engage in together, and parent education workshops. ALL programs are free to families.

Funding for the Family Resource Center comes from the Family Support Strategy of First Things First and focuses on strengthening families with young children and preparing them for kindergarten. Strong families are the building blocks of strong communities; it is critical parents have the necessary resources and tools to provide their children with stable nurturing environments, especially in the earliest years.
